Computer Fans
What keeps your computer in its ideal temperature despite the heat produced by the machine is the computer fan. Without it or when it quits working, your computer can be more prone to crashes or, eventually, permanent damages.
A computer fan works as a cooling device of the computer. Whether a computer fan draws cooler air into the case, expels warm air from the inside, or moves air within the system, it's main function is keep the inside of the computer case well-ventilated.
Types of Computer Fans
- Case Mount Computer Fans
The case mount computer fan draws the outside air in through the front and expels it through the rear of the computer case. It's commonly attached to the front or back of your computer. - Power Supply Computer Fan
Perhaps the busiest fan in the computer case is the power supply (PSU) computer fan. It has a double function: keeping the power supply cool and expelling warm air out of of the casing. There are PSUs that have two fans: a bigger computer fan for keeping the PSU cool by removing warm air in the case and a smaller computer fan for expelling the hot air outside the casing. - CPU Computer Fans
Not all computers have a CPU computer fan installed. Some computers have heat sinks that contain a fan that helps in keeping the CPU cool. - Graphics Card Computer Fan
Modern graphic cards can produce more heat than a CPU; thus it's important to have a graphics card computer fan to keep the graphic card cool.
